Sketching and Drawing
Incorporate right-brain drawing techniques with basic "learning to look"
studio still-life drawing exercises. Learn basic drawing skills with pencil,
pen, charcoal, and pastel; develop an understanding of the concepts of
contour line, tone, gesture, positive/negative space, form, highlight,
contrast and composition. Success is guaranteed even for those who feel

C.S. Price(1874-1950): Visit the Art & Architecture and Allied Arts Department
gallery, EMU Gallery at U of O; Natural History Museum, Native American

Pine Needle Basketry
Create a pine needle basket and lid or a tray with handles using local
ponderosa needles coiled in native tradition. Finishing techniques include
different weaving patterns, stitches and embellishments from nature. $8

Ski Conditioning
Develolp and maintain greater strength and endurance to improve your overall
performance during the ski season. Designed for skiers of all levels.
Power and muscular endurance will be emphasized through total strength
development of the legs, thighs, gluteals, hips, abdominals, and lower
